Why we started Healing Healthcare

Healthcare is full of smart people — but the system still doesn’t work as well as it should.

This podcast brings together physicians, founders, and healthcare leaders to have honest conversations about what’s broken in healthcare and what it will take to fix it.

Join our co-hosts Rian Gauvreau and Ryan Oakman as we explore healthcare innovation across clinical practice, policy, and technology — from digital health and AI in healthcare to the systems and people reshaping how care is delivered.

Each episode dives into the real challenges of modern medicine and the ideas driving the future of healthcare.

If you care about the future of medicine — and aren’t afraid to question the status quo — this podcast is for you.

Welcome to Healing Healthcare, where we explore the challenges, innovations, and ideas shaping the future of healthcare. I'm Ryan Gauvreau, co-founder of Aeon Health.

Before Aeon, I co-founded Clio, which grew into one of Canada's leading technology companies. Through that journey, I saw firsthand how thoughtfully built software can transform an entire profession. We fundamentally changed how lawyers work. Now we're asking the same question in healthcare. Because healthcare shouldn't come with a second shift. It shouldn't exhaust the people who dedicate their lives to it. And it shouldn't feel fragmented for the patients navigating it.

At Aeon, we're building technology to support clinicians, not replace them. And to help make care more efficient, more precise, and more human…but this podcast isn't about software. It's about the people rethinking how care is delivered. It's about the friction, the failures, and the bold ideas, and the practical innovations that might actually move the needle.

We're based in Canada, but the challenges and the opportunities that we'll explore are global. Whether you're a patient, a provider, an operator, or somebody about the future of medicine, this conversation is for you. Let's get into it.
